Proto Pasta is an original filament brand for 3D printing. A project based in the USA and led by 2 enthusiasts. The company started with carbon-reinforced PLA and then continued to evolve towards ever more exotic materials containing various metals or fulfilling increasingly advanced applications. At the beginning, the company used Kick starter to start up production of its first filaments. It now specialises in the production of filaments which have characteristics close to metals such as iron or steel and their filaments are highly resistant to heat with some also having conductive properties.
Proto Pasta is a registered Proto Plant brand, the spools and filaments are imported from the USA and come in spool or crown depending on the materials.
Proto Pasta filaments are manufactured by a small company called Proto Plant founded by Dustin Cram and it specialises in the design, research and production of filaments for FDM 3D printers. The manufacturing plant is located in Vancouver, Washington in the United States.
Proto Pasta offers PLAs with conductive properties similar to that of iron (attraction to a magnet, rust) making it very convenient for all your printing requiring these features
The brand also offers ABS filaments with remarkable properties in terms of the strength of the printed pieces. However you must stay vigilant because these filaments are in fact reserved for professionals or people with some knowledge about 3D printing and a certain number of settings will be required on your machine to ensure the best print result as these filaments are quite difficult to print and are intended for knowledgeable users.
Makershop3D has selected Proto pasta products for you that include PLA and ABS filaments with both these types of Proto pasta filaments are available in 1.75mm and 2.85mm sizes on our website. The filaments from Proto Pasta are intended for FDM 3D printers like Ultimaker, FlashForge and Tobeca. For any questions about ProtoPasta filaments for 3D printers please contact our experts.
