Use

ColorFabb SteelFill 1.75mm filament is used to 3D print beautiful objects with a steel aspect. This filament lets you produce heavy, shiny parts (after post-treatment).

Tips and precautions for use

Pre-print tips

If your 3D printer is not equipped with a hot plate, we recommend using adhesive tape (available in our catalogue).

For making fine and detailed parts, start printing using 50% ventilation.

SteelFill Steel 1.75mm also requires the use of special steel nozzles to avoid wear to conventional brass nozzles.

We recommend you make your prints with a layer thickness ranging from 0.2mm to 0.27mm.


Obtaining a shiny look with post-treatment

To make your 3D print shinier and give it a better steel look, we recommend you post-process your part. This post-treatment involves polishing your workpiece with sandpaper to remove printing marks and bring out the steel particles.


ColorFabb SteelFill Steel 1.75mm filament is compatible with all 3D printers. Please check if the diameter is compatible with your machine.
